Michael Wyatt Spann, 4 of Winfield, Alabama was born November 20, 2015 to Greg and Christy Rutledge Spann.
He died Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 7:17 p.m., at his home in the loving arms of his parents.
In December of 2018, Wyatt was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer and a type of embryonic tumor that starts in the fetal or embryonic cells in the brain. At the time it was discovered the cancer had already spread down to his spine. A Facebook post from Wyatt’s parents, Greg and Christy Spann, told that Wyatt had went through seven rounds of chemo, a stem cell transplant, and numerous surgeries. Wyatt was released from St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, and got a Hero’s Welcome Home from several Police, Fire Departments and State Troopers. Wyatt has touched many lives all over the world in his short life.
A benefit motorcycle ride, in memory of Wyatt Spann, was held Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Winfield, Alabama.
Visitation: 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Winfield, Alabama.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the church.
Burial: Goodwater Cemetery, Winfield, Marion County, Alabama.
Officiating: Brother Camron Jungles.
