Michael “Mikie” Patrick Champion, age 39 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Chattanooga on February 7, 1982. Mikie was a 2001 graduate of Franklin County High School. He started working at Bi-Lo Grocery Store in Decherd at the age of sixteen. When they closed the location, he went to work for Food Lion and was currently employed in the grocery industry as a food stocker. Mikie was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where he was baptized and currently attended Paynes Baptist Church. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan…whether they were winning or losing. He also watched and cheered for NASCAR driver, Kevin Harvick. A true sports fan, Mikie knew sports statistics like the back of his hand. He enjoyed hiking and fishing as well as listening to country music. Mikie always had a smile on his face and will be remembered for his energetic and positive nature. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Brice Bolin; maternal grandmother, Drue Tate; and maternal grandfather, Jake Champion. Mikie is survived by his loving mother, Sandra Bolin of Winchester; sister, Victoria Bryce Bolin of Winchester; stepfather, Tim Coker of Winchester; grandparents, James and Brenda Coker of Winchester; aunts and uncles, Rena Champion of Estill Springs, Jerry and Sharon Champion of Winchester, David and Judy Bolin of Winchester, Jean Masey of Cowan, Tammy Tate of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; and Tony Coker of Winchester; great aunt, Sally Atkins of East Ridge; and many cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 12-2:30pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:30 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Jim Thomas and Bro.
