Michael “Mickey” Lewis Bates, 70 of Elkmont, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at home. Mr. Bates was born January 21, 1950 to Louis Oliver Bates and Lela Mae Bryant.
Funeral services for Mr. Bates will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Steve Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery.
Mr. Bates was a member of Elkmont Church of Christ. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Regina Eldridge Bates; daughter, Shane Bates Leopard (Larry); stepdaughter, Kristin Gimigliano (Jake); grandchildren, Emily Leopard Harris (Will), Chandler Leopard, Kaylee Gimigliano, Hannah Gimigliano and Jace Gimigliano.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Joy Bates.
Pallbearers are Larry Leopard, Jake Gimigliano, Chandler Leopard, Stan Bates, Joe Bates and Steve Bates. Honorary pallbearers are Wade Bates, Bill Huntley and Don Wilkerson.
