Preceded in death by her parents.

Jean lived a resilient life where she believed in perseverance to face life’s challenges. She grew up in rural Alabama and Georgia, helping raise her sisters and a brother by age fourteen. Her first career was in the hospitality industry which brought her to North Alabama. Life got tougher after she lost her first husband and then had two boys to raise alone. After this happened, she was bound and determined not to finish her life as a hardship case. A college education would help her pursue her passion. After many years of part time and full-time study, she completed her Bachelor’s in Marketing from UAH.

In 1996 she married Larry Hardiman. After a few more years in the business world, she once again changed career direction to a stay at home mom/home schoolteacher. Volunteering at VBS, the Lord helped her discover her calling for teaching. Beginning in her 40s, she pursued and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education.

She was loved and respected among her teaching colleagues at Endeavor Elementary School until her retirement in 2020.
