Michael Louis Craft Minister Michael Louis Craft was born on March 5, 1957 to the late Frank and Edna Craft. Michael departed this life on April 14, 2024. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Horton’s Temple AOH Church of God under the leadership of Elder James Nicholson, where he served as an usher, later he also joined House of Prayer COGIC under the Leadership of Elder Elton Draper he served as a minister and he joined Open Door Church Mission COGIC under the leadership of Elder James Craft. He worked at the Coco-Cola Bottling Company, Ballet Fabrics, Fieldcrest, and JC Penney. He later opened up Open Door Thrift Store. He enjoyed helping others. He was married to the late Janie Ford Craft and he leaves to mourn, a son Michael Junior Craft; sister, Celia Smith (Robert); brother, Elder James Craft (Cheryl), William Craft (Frances), Buddy Craft; sisters, Margie Wilson, Lucille Edmonson, Ann Olivia Evans, Martha Ellison; two aunts, Linda Dillard (Johnny) and Kathy Patrick of Chattanooga, TN, two brothers-in-law, Minister Earl Ellison, Lewis Kelly and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation, will be from 1 – 2 p.m. and services following at Open Door Church Mission Church of God in Christ, 546 Quincy St., Scottsboro, on Saturday, April 20, 2024 with Superintendent Herbert Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
