Michael Edwin Grant, age 54 of Cowan, crossed over on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on October 5, 1968. Michael had been employed as an owner/operator truck driver. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his ATVs in the mountains, and camping, as well as grilling out with family and friends who considered him the grillmaster. He also enjoyed cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers. An animal lover, Michael bred and raised Akita dogs for many years. Michael will be remembered for his generous, giving nature, and as a jokester, always making others laugh. He cherished the time spent with his mother and his family. Michael was so proud of his daughter who is his greatest accomplishment. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence Farmer, Katie Farmer, Ed Grant, and Frankie Bell; uncles, Sammy Farmer, and David Grant; and aunt, Kathy Keith. Michael is survived by his daughter, Callie (Logan) Ray of Winchester; granddaughter, Kora Ray of Winchester; mother, Treva (Farmer) Grant of Cowan; sister, Renee (Tommy) Curtis of Cowan; niece, Hannah Lannan; nephew, Samuel Boatman; great-niece, Kyla Ann Lannan; and many other family and friends. Visitation with family and friends will be from 12-2pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Chris Noland officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Trust Point Hospital in Murfreesboro.
