Mescal Elaine Stanton Lytton, Wife, Mother, Mimi, Sister, Aunt and Friend, went home to be with Jesus on January 23, 2024 after an amazing 101 years.

She was born in Parrot, Virginia, on March 21,1922 to her loving parents David Emlyn Stanton and Nannie Ruth Stanton. She was the first born girl of five children.
While swimming at the lake in Saint Paul she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Jack Lytton. They were married on April 4, 1948 after Jack was released from the Navy and Merchant Marines. They were blessed with two children, Jeff and Pamela. Mescal and Jack were married for 35 years.

Mescal loved life. She loved all of her children and grandchildren even the adopted ones. She had a big heart and was a mother to anyone who needed one. She was always game to try new things. She was fearless and tough. Mescal will be missed greatly by every single one of the lives she touched. She had a smile and eyes that would light up a room. Mescal was simply the best.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, David Emlyn and Nannie Ruth Stanton; her husband, Jack Lytton; brothers, Jack Emlyn Stanton, Morgan Thomas Stanton, William Pat Stanton; a sister, Shirley Emily Lytton; and a granddaughter, Morgan Lytton Armstrong. She is survived by her loving children, a son, Jeff Lytton (Robin) of Anderson, South Carolina; a daughter, Pamela Armstrong of Starkville, MS; grandchildren, Taylor O’Neal (Jeff) of Starkville, MS; Ashley Burdette (Payton) of Anderson, South Carolina; a great grandchild, Lynley Burdette of Anderson, South Carolina; and many, many loving friends.

Services for Mescal Lytton are as follows;
Visitation is at 10:30 AM with the service to follow immediately after at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Longview Baptist Church in Longview, Mississippi. Burial in Saint Paul, Virginia to follow at a later date.
