Meridianville Woman Dies From Injuries Received From Single-Vehicle Accident In Jackson County

PAINT ROCK-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident that has taken the life of one person and sent another to hospital:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, has claimed the life of a Meridianville woman.

Taylor M. Hawkins, 33, was fatally injured when the 2017 Ford Edge, that she was a passenger in, left the roadway, struck a ditch and then a tree. Hawkins was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, Courtney D. Hawkins, 29, of Scottsboro, was also not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was injured and transported to the Highlands Hospital for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72 near Alabama 65, approximately two miles north of Paint Rock, in Jackson County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
