Melvin Sellers, age 96, of Dora, AL passed away peacefully December 14, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eleanor Sellers; son, Michael Sellers (Myra); daughters, Barbara Cunningham (Lewis) and Cheryl Jones; grandsons, Corey, Kyle and Kevin Sellers, Brian Cunningham, Will, John David and Andrew Jones; granddaughters, Jill Saunders and Alison Nesmith (Kip) as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Melvin proudly served his country in the US Army Infantry in WWII. He was a devoted member and served as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church. Melvin worked at Ryder Truck lines for 30 years. He enjoyed watching all sports and couldn’t possibly pick a favorite. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Melvin will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Monday, December 17, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church in Dora, AL. Visitation from 10 am – 12 pm with funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church building fund.
