Melvin Millard Phillips age 87 of Hamilton, AL formerly of Guin, AL passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at his residence.
Born August 15, 1936 in Marion County, AL he is the Son of the late George Willis and Dora Elizabeth Franks Phillips. He was a member of the Free Water Free Will Baptist Church and had retired after working 35 years for Continental Conveyor.
Mr. Phillips was an avid piano, organ and guitar player. He loved making music and attending singings. He was a member of the Melody Boys Quartet, and also Henson Family and Ilene. He also loved traveling, gardening and growing beautiful flowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.
He is survived by his nieces and Nephews: Martha Fisher of IL, Carolyn Davis (Duraine), Naomi McCullar (Lynn), Steve Phillips (Sandy), Tammy Linley all of Hamilton, AL, George Langley of Fayette, AL and Ginger Barnett (Phillip) of Haleyville, AL, and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews Cousins and other Family Members.
Services held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 3:00 Pm from the Veal memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Burial in the old Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Don Taggert officiating.
