Melvin Freeman Barber, Jr., age 70, died on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Forest Cove Nursing Home.
He was born on September 29, 1945, the son of the late Melvin F. and Nancy Martha Ledbetter Barber. He was retired from Bates Manufacturing as a machine operator. He was a veteran.
He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Lula Willhite, Gladys Ethel Dolby, Claudie Dean Reynolds and Carol Ann Rogers and a brother, Roy Benjamin Barber.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Friday August 5, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM prior to the graveside.
