Melvin Floyd Bynum  Melvin Floyd Bynum, 98 of Sayre, passed away at his residence on July 8, 2026.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served his enlistment in Tokyo, Japan. He was a retired crane operator at U.S. Steel. One of the things he enjoyed most was hunting for objects with his metal detector.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bynum; his parents, Floyd and Lottie Bynum; and seven siblings.
Survivors include his children, Betty Watts (Dale), Danny Bynum, Donna Vaughan (Terry), Sharon Falkner (Lidell), and Karen Lauderdale (David); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Graveside services and interment will be Monday, July 13, 26 at 1:00 pm at Crestview Memorial Gardens. Everyone is invited to meet at the gravesite.
The family wished to express their thanks to New Beacon Hospice and nurse Megan for their loving care.
