Melissa Smith, 59, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born August 17, 1966, to the late Truman Johnson and the late Betty Cole Johnson in Tupelo. Melissa loved of gardening, camping, boating, and spending time outdoors. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday May 15, 2026, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday May 15th at Senter Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jerry Duane Smith of Fulton; son, Brent (Katie) Smith, of Fulton; daughter, Jessica (Parker) Smith of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Jaxon, Spencer, Hayden, and Noralyn; siblings, Gail Mattox of Tupelo, Cheryl Park of Tupelo, Wayne Johnson of Shannon, and Jeanie Vails of Saltillo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Truman and Betty Johnson.
