Melba Weatherman Crowder, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Crowder, Sr.; her parents, Melvin Clarence and Lois Allen Weatherman; one sister, Helen Booth; and one brother, Charles Weatherman. She is survived by one son, Robert A. Crowder, Jr., M.D. (Jean Ann) of Old Hickory, TN and three daughters, Amy Crowder of Lawrenceburg, TN; Beth Crowder O’Neil (Michael) of Germantown, TN; and Cathy Crowder Grof (Bob) of Nashville, TN; one sister, Barbara Williams of Pulaski, TN; and one brother, David Weatherman of Franklin, TN. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Crowder was a member of Pulaski Street Church of Christ. She was a graduate of the University of North Alabama and held membership in the honorary scholastic society, Phi Kappa Phi. She was a teacher and director of the Lawrence County Materials Center for the Lawrence County School System before retiring in 1992.
Melba Crowder was a former member of the Lawrence County Retired Teachers Association, The Pilot Club of Lawrence County, the Four Corners F.C.E. Club, the Thursday Club and the Lawrenceburg Study Club.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM Tuesday, April 01, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Mimosa Cemetery at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 01, 2014, with Joe Williams officiating. Family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
