Megan Renee Smith, age 20, of Waterloo, Alabama, died, Saturday, September 24, 2016. The visitation will be Friday, Sept. 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. David Dowdy and Larry Burbank will be officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Lavka, Boone Fullwood, Adam Irons, Eric Wood, Jonathon Dodd, Cory Risner, Hunter Smith, and Josh Richards.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Peggy Smith and John and Janice Wood.
Megan was a 2014 graduate of Central High School and was in the top ten in her class. She was a member of the Leadership Shoals and won numerous academic awards at school. Megan was awarded an academic scholarship to Northwest Shoals Community where she was a nursing student. She also attended Valley View House of Prayer.
Survivors include her mom and dad; James Smith and Cheryl; biological mother, Kim Wood; and numerous relatives and special friends.
