MCSO Traffic Stop Leads to Search Warrant, Significant Drug Seizure, and Arrest

HUNTSVILLE-On Monday, members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Oakwood Avenue and Blue Spring Road in Huntsville. Information obtained during the traffic stop led detectives to secure a search warrant for a hotel room located at 2209 North Memorial Parkway. Detectives executed the search warrant and recovered multiple illegal narcotics, a stolen firearm, and additional evidence consistent with drug distribution.
Arrested:

Robert Gene Carroll, 49, was transported to the Madison County Jail Facility, where his bond was set at $1,504,000.00.

Charges:
▶︎Drug Trafficking – 36.20 grams of Fentanyl
▶︎Possession with Intent to Distribute – 16.30 grams of Cocaine
▶︎Possession of a Controlled Substance – 6.50 grams of Methamphetamine
▶︎Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree – 33.30 grams
▶︎Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree – Stolen firearm reported by the Huntsville Police Department
Sheriff Kevin Turner praised the work of the Street Crimes Unit, stating:
“Fentanyl is killing people every single day, and anyone pushing this poison in Madison County should take notice. My deputies are working day in and day out to take drugs and guns off the streets of Huntsville and Madison County. We will find you, we will shut your business down, and we will put you in jail.”
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to identifying and arresting individuals involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics throughout our community. This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
