COLBERT COUNTY-This special holiday edition is packed with festive local events,
seasonal activities, and community highlights designed to help everyone
celebrate a merry and memorable December.

November 29- December 23, 2025 – Winter Art Market – Tennessee Valley Museum of Art,
511 W. Water St., Tuscumbia. The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art will host the TVAA Winter
Art Market, a curated seasonal showcase featuring 30 to 45 local and regional artisans offering
fine art, jewelry, pottery, and unique holiday gifts. Early Bird shopping for TVAA members takes
place on November 29, followed by the public opening on December 2. The market will be open
Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will be closed on Sundays,
Mondays, and November 26–28 for Thanksgiving. The final day to shop is December 23, with

December 2, 2025 – Tuscumbia Tinsel Trail – Tuscumbia Pocket Park. Join your community
for the inaugural Tuscumbia Tinsel Trail and help light up downtown Tuscumbia with holiday
cheer! Organizations are invited to sponsor and decorate a beautifully lit tree to showcase their
business and spread joy. The official Tuscumbia Tinsel Trail Tree Lighting will take place on
December 2nd, directly following the Christmas parade, at “Pocket Park” on Main Street,
located between 6th and 5th Streets. To purchase a tree and participate in this new tradition,

December 3, 2025 – Pictures with Santa – Sheffield Public Library, 316 N. Montgomery Ave.,
Sheffield. The Sheffield Public Library is hosting “Pictures with Santa” on Wednesday,
December 3, 2025. Bring your children to the library between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM to meet

December 4, 2025 – Cherokee Public Library Cookie Swap – Cherokee Public Library, 118
Church St., Cherokee. Join us at the Cherokee Public Library on Thursday, December 4th at 11
am for our second annual Cookie Swap! Attendees will each bring 3 dozen cookies: one to
share with everyone and two to give away. You will also need to bring a tray or plate to display

December 4, 2025 – Sweeney Todd – Cypress Moon Studios, 1000 Alabama Ave., Sheffield.
The Cypress Moon Studios will be hosting the musical Sweeney Todd, with performances
running from December 4th through December 14th. The performance schedule includes shows
on December 4th, 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th, and 13th at 7:00 PM, and matinee shows on December

December 5, 2025 – Chili, Cookies, and Claus – Leighton Public Library, 8740 Main Street.
The Leighton Public Library invites you to their Chili, Cookies, and Claus! event on Friday,
December 5th, 2025. The afternoon begins with a Chili Supper and Bake Sale at 3:00 PM, with
proceeds from the bake sale benefiting the Friends of Leighton Public Library. Don’t miss the
Meet-n-Greet and pictures with Santa Claus from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event takes place at

December 5-7, 2025 – Christmas Cabaret at The Ritz – The Ritz Theatre, 111 West 3rd St.,
Sheffield. The Ritz Theatre presents its Christmas Cabaret at the RITZ, directed by Jennifer
Adams and Joey Wright. This holiday show will run for three nights, December 5th through 7th,
2025, with performances starting at 7:00 PM at The RITZ Theatre, located at 111 W 3rd St,

December 6, 2025 – NWSCC Breakfast with Santa – Northwest Shoals Community College,
800 George Wallace Blvd., Muscle Shoals. Kick off the holiday season at the Northwest Shoals
Community College Foundation’s fourth annual Breakfast with Santa! Join NWSCC on
Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shoals Campus for breakfast,
holiday crafts, and Christmas carols. Children will have the chance to meet Santa and some of
his special friends, including Elsa, Olaf, and the Grinch. Tickets are $15 per person, and
everyone ages two and older must have a ticket for entry (children under two are free). All

December 6, 2025 – “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”– The Ritz Theatre, 111 West 3rd
St., Sheffield. The Ritz Theatre presents a holiday favorite, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,”
with two performances on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Directed by Andrew Maples and Laura
Ringnell, the play follows the Herdman siblings, known as the “worst kids in the world,” as their
mischievous antics disrupt the annual Christmas pageant. Their unexpected interpretations of
the Christmas story ultimately shock the community and teach everyone the true meaning of

December 6, 2025 – Christmas at The Forge – The Forge Coffeehouse, 2108 SE Wilson Dam

December 6, 2025 – Senior Citizen Bingo – Michael Center, 1001 East 17th St., Sheffield.
The Sterling Reunion Committee for Sterling High/Sheffield High invites all area seniors to a
free Senior Citizen Bingo event on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The
event, which is honoring “The Legends,” will be held at the Michael Center, 1001 E 17th Street
in Sheffield. All area seniors are welcome, and prizes and food will be provided
December 6-7, 2025 – Mistletoe Market – North Alabama State Fairgrounds, 65 Sportsplex
Dr., Muscle Shoals. All-Starz Dance Academy invites you to the 4th Annual Mistletoe
Marketplace 2025, a holiday event taking place at the North Alabama State Fairgrounds. Save

December 11-20, 2025 – Christmas at Belle Mont – Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Ln.,

screening of the holiday classic Home Alone, the 1990 film where Kevin McCallister must outwit

December 12, 2025 – Run Run Rudolph 5K – Spring Park, 1 Spring Park Rd., Tuscumbia.
Tuscumbia’s Run Run Rudolph returns to Spring Park on December 12, 2025, offering a festive
evening of running and holiday cheer for all ages. The event begins with festivities at 5:00 p.m.,
featuring a visit from Rudolph. The 5K race and free Christmas Carol Crawl start at 6:00 p.m.,
followed by the 1-mile fun run at 7:00 p.m. Participants will enjoy a scenic route filled with
Christmas lights and downtown holiday displays, and everyone is encouraged to dress in their
best Christmas gear. All races take place on a USATF-certified course and are chip-timed by

December 12-13, 2025 – Holiday Tour of Homes 2025 – The Caring Place of the Shoals
presents the Holiday Tour of Homes 2025, offering tours of at least 10 locations in The Shoals.
The event takes place over two days: Friday, December 12th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and
Saturday, December 13th, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased at the Kennedy Douglass Art Center, Sheffield Public Library, and First United

December 13, 2025 – 15th Annual It’s a Dickens Christmas Y’all – Downtown Tuscumbia.
Embrace the holiday spirit at the Fifteenth Annual Dickens Christmas Y’all Holiday Festival in
historic downtown Tuscumbia, Alabama, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The all-day, free
street festival brings a Victorian Christmas to life with costumed characters, carriage rides with
the famous Clydesdales, music, and food vendors, including snow falling on Main Street!

Christmas Carol’ – Tuscumbia Utilities Auditorium, 202 E 6th St., Tuscumbia. Join beloved
storyteller Dolores Hydock for “No Humbug! The surprising story behind the creation of ‘A
Christmas Carol’.” Discover the little-known backstory of how Charles Dickens was inspired to
write his famous “little Carol,” including details from his young life, the “sledge-hammer” that
sparked the story, and how the celebration of Christmas has changed since the book was first
written, even involving Napoleon Bonaparte. The program concludes with a reading of the

Sheffield. The Ritz Theatre is hosting two days of holiday magic themed around the classic
movie The Polar Express on December 13th and 14th. The event begins each day at 4:00 PM
with festive fun, including a trolley ride with Santa, hot cocoa, cookies, and ornament making.
The movie screening on the historic Ritz Theatre’s big screen will begin at 5:30 PM. Tickets are

December 16, 2025 – Shoals Holiday Concert – Alabama Music Hall of Fame, 617 US-72
West, Tuscumbia. Celebrate the season with the annual Shoals Holiday Concert, held Tuesday,
December 16 at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Enjoy performances by Grammy-nominated
artists Mark Narmore and Bobby Tomberlin, along with Tess Frizell of the legendary Frizell

adaptation of the classic production that highlights its most iconic scenes and music, all played
by a live orchestra. Co-directed by Laya Pettus and co-directed/choreographed by Tonya King,
this enchanting show is designed as a captivating introduction to the world of ballet for the

December 2, 2025 – Tuscumbia Christmas Parade – Downtown Tuscumbia. The Tuscumbia
Christmas Parade begins at 6 pm at Deshler High School, down Main Street, left on Sixth

December 4, 2025 – Muscle Shoals Christmas Parade – The Muscle Shoals Christmas
Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at Police Dept. on Gusmus Avenue and proceeds down to City Hall.

December 6, 2025 – Leighton Christmas Parade – The Leighton Christmas Parade will take
