FLORENCE – The Movie in the Park Committee, which is a subcommittee of Downtown Florence Unlimited, will feature “Max” at Wilson Park in downtown Florence on Saturday, June 16.
The film will start at dusk, and a selection of cartoons will play in advance of the show.
Committee Chairman Wayne Hicks said “Max” is the hart-warming story of a trained military servicedog, who is returned to his home after his human, United States Marine Kyle Wincott, is killed in Afghanistan.
“It’s a good film for July, when our thoughts are often turned to more patriotic things,” Hicks said. “‘Max’ is also a good family movie that will appeal to a wide variety of audiences who want a little something different to do on a Saturday evening in the summer.”
Other films are planned later this year as part of the ongoing Movie in the Park series.
