Mavis Sims Huskey, 87, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, in a local healthcare facility. She was born March 12, 1930, in Moulton to the late James E. and Cordella Price Sims.
Mrs. Huskey graduated from Tennessee Temple College in the early 1950s.She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church and attended Alliance Church. She and her late husband, William Clifford Huskey were retired Missionaries with Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI).
Mrs. Huskey was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy Sims, J. D. Sims and Rev. Deen Sims.
Survivors include her daughter, Regina (Phillip) Stuart, of Chickamauga; son, John (Shannon) Huskey, of Dunlap; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin in the East Brainerd Chapel at 1 p.m. with Dr. Ray Thompson and Rev. Virgil Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
