Mavis Morgan Pace  Mavis Morgan Pace 92 of Muscle Shoals departed this life for her heavenly home on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Mavis was born on April 22, 1932, in Franklin County, Alabama to the late Tasker and Mertie Doss Morgan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Pace; Brothers, Virgil Morgan, Ralph Morgan; Sisters Verla Seay, Verna Bentley, Ruth Chaney, Nina Tackett, Evon Goode, Vera Johnston, and Truby Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy Louise Porter (John), grandsons Christopher Van Riper (Denise) and Kevin Van Riper (Stephanie), and her sister Ivy Byrd. She is also survived by her very much-loved nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her greatly.

She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Russellville.

She was a homemaker for most of her life, and she considered this, and being a mother and grandmother, to be the most important job of all. She worked for several years at Terrace Manor Nursing Home, a job she loved as she was seeing to it that the patients were fed good food, and once in a while making special treats for them as they requested.

She enjoyed gardening very much and could make anything grow. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She felt blessed to have a loving and supportive family and many dear friends, both living and departed.

A visitation with family and friends will be held from 1:00 -2 :00 p.m. Thursday, March 06, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel of Russellville, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Wayne Kilpatrick officiating. Pallbearers will be family members. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Russellville AL.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at this link https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
