Maurine McClelland Jones, 91, of Huntsville, Alamama passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Huntsville Hospital.
Maurine was born in Houston, Texas to George McClelland and Mary A. Hyland on August 12, 1933. She earned a degree in Physical Education from Baylor University and later earned a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While teaching in Belton Texas she met and married her future husband, Marvin C. Jones. They were married in December 1955. Maurine was a homemaker and loved to read, work with crafts, play piano, and garden.
Maurine is survived by her children, Sandra (Thomas) Reese, Nancy (Terry) Powers, Meg Stallings, Kenneth (Marsha) Jones and Steve (Melissa) Jones; grandchildren, Christa (Jason) Potts and Justin Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Mia, Simeon, Neva, Evelie, and Josie; and much-loved twin sister, Corinne McClelland Hal; brother, Jesse (Mimi) McClelland; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin C. Jones, parents, George and Mary A. McClelland, brother, David McClelland, son in-law, Gary Stallings, and brother in-law, Robert Hall.
