Mattlean Simpson, 95 entered into eternal peace on Friday January 1, 2016 at El Reposo Nursing Facility. Mattlean was born on March 20, 1920 to Elwood and Emma Michael, She was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church since 1946. She enjoyed church and fellowship with friends. Mattlean also enjoyed cooking for others, gardening,quilting and visits with family where the majority reside in Indiana. she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Willie D. Simpson, a daughter Janice Faye, her Brother Royce and sister Frances. Mattlean was a very gentle soul. She had a loving and generous heart. she leaves her loving memories to her son Doyce Lee McMurtrey and wife Laura, her grandchildren, Roger Lee McMurtrey and wige Peggy, Curtis Lynn McMurtrey and wife Evelyn, and Sandra Kaye McMurtrey, 8 Great grandchildren and 4 Great Great grandchildren, sister Nadine Smith, nephew David Richardson and wife Suzie, along with several other nephews and nieces. Friends and relatives are invited and may call at Loretto Memorial Chapel from 6-8 pm on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Funeral Services will be held Monday January 4, 2016 at 1PM at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Burial service will follow at Pettus Cemetery
