Funeral service for Billie J. Monk, age 84, of Decatur, will be Monday, January 4, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Evans officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mr. Monk, who died Friday, January 1, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born April 7, 1931, in Alabama, to Joda and Mary Estell Berry Monk.
He is survived by his wife Betty Turner Monk, three sons, Greg Monk of Houston, TX, Gary Monk of Priceville, AL and Barry Monk of Tuscumbia, AL, one daughter, Terri Tinklepaugh of Tuscaloosa AL, one brother, Dennis Monk of Somerville, AL and one sister Betty June Monk of Decatur, AL, and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
