Mary Suzanne Tissier Schultz passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2023. She was born August 17, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama. Her parents were Dr. Thomas Marion and Mary Lillie Evelyn (Gower) Tissier. Suzanne was married for 63 years to David Norman Schultz, a NASA Engineer, who passed away in 2016.

Suzanne was a nurse, a dog lover, and had an avid interest in pet adoption. She had a passion for genealogy and after tracing her lineage, became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society Magna Charta Dames. She and her family attended Ford’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Harvest, Alabama, where she was the church historian for many years. Suzanne served countless volunteer hours in her community for charitable organizations. Suzanne was a very creative person, her favorite color was purple, and she loved roses. She was a big Alabama football fan, and she enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner potlucks for her church. She was given the nickname “Bubbles” by her family because she loved to blow bubbles for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren every time they visited. Suzanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Merrill Schultz in 2015. She is survived by her two daughters, Melanie Kanhai (Ricky) and Lily Schultz Shrader; daughter-in-law, Connie (Shipman) Schultz; grandchildren, Brittany Henegar (Evan), Elizabeth Shrader, Mary Caitlyn Herron (Charles), Julia Shrader, and Rebekah Schultz; and her great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Shrader, Noah Shrader, Roman Shrader, Adalynn Henegar, and Remington Henegar.

A memorial service is to be scheduled for September.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ark Inc. Animal Shelter.
