Mary Ruth Boyd, 74, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 6, 2015.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Colbert Memorial Chapel, followed by graveside remembrance and burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Colbert Memorial Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Thomas Whatley. Pallbearers services to be performed by her nephews.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Boyd, and her parents, Henry and Gladys Hyche, of Cordova, Alabama. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Boyd, of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Brian Boyd and wife, Michele, of Troy, Pennsylvania; grandsons, Austin Boyd, Garrett Boyd, and Eric Matthews; granddaughter, Danielle Matthews; great-grandson, Landon; great-granddaughter, Arabella; sisters, Bobby Jones, of Muscle Shoals, and Becky Monteith, of Sparta, Illinois; and brothers, Terry Hyche and Jerry Hyche, of Birmingham;.
Mrs. Boyd was a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. She retired from the Muscle Shoals city school system after 30 years of service as a teacher’s assistant, secretary and assistant to the superintendent’s office.
