Mamie Ruth Solomon, 88 of Athens, Alabama died on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Born Thursday, July 8, 1926 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Orb George and the late Mamie Thompson George. She was the wife of the late Willie Solomon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons: Robet Clyde Solomon and Bobby Joe Solomon of Ardmore, sisters: Audrey Toone, Margaret Rodrigues, Laura Posey, and Louise King, and a grandson: Billy Dean McClure. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She loved her church and her church family.
Surviving are daughters, Bettye Richards of Athens, AL, Linda (Bobby) Huff of Danville, AL, and Faye (Ronald) Pressnell of Athens, AL, daughter-in-law: Wanda Pressnell Solomon of Ardmore, AL, grandchildren: Angelia Green, Cheryl Holt, Gilbert Richards, Jr., Troy Huff, Pam Awe, Scott Huff, Stacy Kelso, Rozanda Bailey, Robert Lee Solomon, Robert Clyde Solomon,II, Ginger Carter, Heath Solomon, and Farrah Faust, and 28 Great-grandchldren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Dale Mitchell and Bro. Jamie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Elliott Cemetery, Ardmore, TN.
Pallbearers will be Heath Solomon, Reid Carter, Clint Jackson, Troy Huff, Scott Huff, Thomas Green, and Rob Bailey.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
