Mary L. Bryson, 90, passed away on Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Livingston Lackey and Louis Herbert Lackey, Sr., brother, Louis Herbert Lackey, Jr., her husband, Boyd Bryson, and cousins Jacob L. Livingston and Anna Nolen-Schmidt. She is survived by cousins, Trudy L. Livingston, Jacob S. Livingston (Angie), Stephanie L. Jones (Bryan), Annie Farquhar Leggett (Torrance Leon Leggett), Torrance Ivan Leggett (Amy Gabois), and Suzanne Leggett (Mike Cottrell).
Mary was raised in Akron, Alabama. She spent the last 58 years in Huntsville. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Mary retired from the U.S. Government in the mid 80’s as a Program Analyst in the U.S. Army Research and Development Center, RSA. She was very proud of her volunteer work at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center, serving on the Board of Directors for several years. She was responsible for establishing a playground in Akron.
A graveside service will be held at the Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Akron, Alabama, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 4:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center, or Hospice Family Care.
