Mary Kathryn Russell, age 97 of Muscle Shoals, died Monday, August 22, 2016. Her family will receive friends Thursday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Larry Smart officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mary was a retired nurse and a member of First Southern Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Leroy Russell, son, Tommy Russell, daughter, Diana K. Russell, parents, Nora Bell and Perry Thomas Holt, grandchildren, Keith Borden, Lisa Borden Weaver, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Gary L. Russell (Teresa) of Tuscumbia, daughters; Peggy Borden (Chester) of Cherokee, Sue Hicks (Eddie) of Decatur, Judy Watkins also of Decatur; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and; one great great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are nephews; Doug Stokes, Chris Hagood, Wayne Holt, Jerry Holt, Joe Holt, and Mike Holt.
The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Cypress Cove Nursing Home.
