Mary F. Vaughan Mary F. Vaughan, 86, of Bolivar, passed away Wednesday morning, October 7, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born October 16, 1933 in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Coy Monroe Cox and Lela Mae Adams Cox and lived her life here. She married Raymond “St. Louis” Vaughan on May 21, 1951 and he preceded her in death in March of 1982. She retired from Wal-Mart as Personnel Manager after 13 1/2 years and had previously worked at Jervis and kept a home daycare. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing and cooking, especially for her family, whom she dearly loved. She and her husband were founding members of Shandy Baptist Church, a place and family she loved to be around.

Survivors include five daughters, Ramona Jaggars (Ronald) of Hornsby, Kathy Parsons (Timmy) of Bolivar, Tina Young (Ronald) of Adamsville, Janette Rickman of Bolivar and Pamela Colvett (Chris) of Lexington; a niece and nephew that she raised, Patsy Darlene Austin and Chris Messer; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Rickie Cox and two sisters, Dorothy Robley and Patsy Wheeler. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Shandy Cemetery, the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate) or the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family requests that anyone attending the visitation or service for Mrs. Vaughan wear a mask or facial covering.

While visiting or attending services for Mrs. Vaughan, please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
