Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Black, age 83, of Tanner will be Monday, January 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Donald Terry officiating. The burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at noon to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Black died Thursday, January 2, 2014, at her residence. She was born March 10, 1930, in Limestone County to Victor Ferguson and Mary Lindsay Ferguson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, James “Tookie” Davis; and a brother Charles Ferguson.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Tabitha Davis, one daughter-in-law, Deberah Davis; three brothers, Billy Wayne Ferguson, Donald Ferguson and Dan Ferguson; three sisters, Betty Jean King, Shirley Ball and Peggy Williamson.
Pallbearers will be Brian Williamson, David Ferguson, Steve Ferguson and Rodney Ferguson.
