Mary B. Whitt, 88, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at her residence in Ardmore, Alabama.
Mary B. was born on Thursday, August 20,1936, in Fayetteville, Tennessee to the late Mr. Richard Quentin Marshall and Mary Carter Marshall. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Mr. Loyd “Jack” Whitt.
Mary B. was a homemaker and a gardener of vegetables and beautiful flowers. She loved her family, Piney Grove Baptist Church, and her church family. Mary B. was an avid Alabama football and Braves baseball fan. She was an inspiration to many, and her smile could light up a room.
Mrs. Whitt was preceded in death by her husband, both of her parents, one daughter, Lydia Whitt Chandler, two sisters: Louise Patterson and Fannie Mae Durham, and one brother, Manson Marshall.
She is survived by one son, Loyd (Heather) Whitt Jr., one son-in-law, Tom Chandler, three grandchildren: Lindsey (Jordan) Whitt Miller, Haley (Keith) Chandler Luper, and Joshua Whitt, three great-grandchildren: Samuel Miller, Justin Luper, and Nathan Luper, one sister, Josephine Smith, as well as one brother, Clifford “Tinker” (Betty) Marshall.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Ardmore, Alabama. A Chapel Service will be held directly afterwards at Piney Grove Baptist Church beginning at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Gatlin Cemetery. Bro. Adam Mikel will be officiating the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
