Mary Alice Tidwell was born October 16, 1928 in Reinzi, MS, the daughter of the late Grover Brewer and Verda Rhineheart Brewer. She departed this life on May 7, 2024 in Hornsby, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 6 Months, 21 Days.
Mary was united in marriage to Charles B. Tidwell on March 16, 1946. Mr. Tidwell preceded her in death in 2002.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Selmer, TN. She retired from Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar as a supervisor of house keeping. She was a hard working lady with a servant’s heart. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a helping hand. She was a great homemaker and a loving mother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her children: Laura Sue Osborn, Tony N. Tidwell, Jimmy Eugene Tidwell, Jacqueline T. Dodd, Nancy E. Patterson and husband Gary; 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tidwell was preceded in death by a son Charles B. Tidwell II; a grandson, Charles B. Tidwell III; three sisters and three brothers.
