Martha Lou Britt, age 82, born December 7, 1940, passed away early on December 3, 2023. She was a resident of Franklin, TN.
Lou will be fondly remembered by all as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who dedicated her life to family and friends. She was a beautiful woman who unselfishly put others first. She and her loving husband Dennis Britt attended every game, play, dance, etc. for their children and grandchildren that they could. They enjoyed travel and built an amazing life together.
Lou had many passions in life. She loved to entertain with her fabulous cooking, festive Christmas decorations, Easter egg hunts and birthday parties. She paid attention to every detail and graciously served those she loved. She was an avid gardener and had amazing landscaping skills. Her gardening gained attention from several publications. Her properties were so meticulous that strangers would stop to gaze and admire the beauty. In addition, she was a master seamstress and made beautiful heirloom clothes for her loved ones. She and her sisters could sew curtains, pillows, and cushions to furnish an entire home in no time. They were affectionately known as the” dream team”. Lou was extremely active in her church and was passionate about serving God, studying the Bible, and helping others daily

Lou was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Louise Stanford (Mother) and Tom Banks Stanford (Father) and Ann Pritchett (Buddy). She is survived by her husband Robert Dennis Britt and her sister Susan Page (Larry). In addition, she is survived by three daughters: Cindy Anderson (Bill), Dianne Bryan (Steve), Denise Lee Britt (Stu) and one son: Jeff Britt (Natalie). She has nine grandchildren: Zach Anderson (Tabitha), Grayson Stoker (Zaleigh), Banks Lee (Katherine), Emery Williams (Marshall), Christian Stoker (Emilee), Mati Anderson, Britt Lee, Connor Britt, and Kathryn Britt. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7 at 1:00 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, TN with interment following at Hare Cemetery in Henderson County. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Millview Church of Christ, 4370 Murfreesboro Road Franklin, TN 37067.
