Martha Joyce Yates, 76, of Pontotoc, passed away October 1, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County. She was born March 11, 1950. Martha was a longtime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was a faithful follower of Christ, and it showed in her everyday life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Yates; daughter, Nicole Watkins (Scotty); sons, Ryan Moorman (Lindsey) and Jordan Yates (Lindsey); grandchildren, Marina, Collin, Carlee, Raylee, Bentley, Carslynn, Beau, Kaylynn, Payton, Jhett, Creed, and Ruby; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.O. and Earnestine Moorman; sisters, Betty Lynn Sewell, Linda Dearman, and Amy Hester; and brother, Barry Moorman.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 4, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Kerry Powell and Bro. Brian Griffith officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is handling the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be C.J. Yates, Wally Witt, J.D. Chism, Andrew Rackley, Drew Payne, Collin Watkins, Justin Moorman, Frankie Moorman, and Jalyn Douglas.
