Martha Irene Melvin, 93 of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Ardmore, TN, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Springhurst Pines Nursing Home in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born Tuesday, November 22, 1921 in Athens, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Mattie Lou Clark Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband: Herman Melvin, sisters: Allie Watson and Hazel Street, and brothers: Wayne Montgomery and Charles Montgomery. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, and flower gardening.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her sisters: Lillie (Billy ) Watson, Rita (Marvin) Cheek, Joyce Montgomery, and Hellen (Harold) Ridgon, brother: Dale (Wanda) Montgomery and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Mickey Buford officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
