Martha Eulene Kennedy Roberts, 90, of Hoover, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Walker Memorial Gardens in Jasper, AL, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Rev. Rodney Keebler will officiate.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Jasper and graduated from Walker County High School. She became a Pediatric Registered Nurse after training at University Hospital in Birmingham where she later served as a nursing instructor for several years. In later years, she joined her husband as owners and operators of Al Roberts Printing, Inc. until their retirement. Mrs. Roberts was active in her church and most recently a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing with her husband and their many friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, James Albert Roberts of Birmingham; parents, David and Pernie Kennedy of Jasper, and son-in-law, Ralph Edwards Holmes, Birmingham. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Holmes (Jim Hermecz) and Gayle Sloan (Mark), five grandchildren, Brandon Holmes, Whitney Holmes, Meredith Holmes of Birmingham, John Mark Sloan of New Haven, CT, and Caroline Sloan of Montgomery and a host of friends.
