Martha Ann “Maggie” Hughes, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center. She was born on November 17, 1926, in Columbia, Tennessee, to Ewell K. and Nell Page Gregg.
A memorial mass will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today, October 23, 2015, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home. Monsignor William Skoneki is officiating.
Mrs. Hughes had been a longtime resident of Auburn and an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew John Hughes, MD; daughter, Molly Hughes (Carl Hollopeter) of Auburn; sons, Andrew John Hughes, Jr. of Ft. Myers, Florida, Michael Gregg Hughes of San Francisco, California, David Alan (Nicole) Hughes of Tuscaloosa, Christopher Joseph (Kathy) Hughes of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Mary Kate Hughes, Ivy Hughes of Auburn, Madison Frazer, Mary Elizabeth Hughes, Jack Hughes, Whit Hughes and Win Hughes of Tuscaloosa.
The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and suggests memorial donations be directed to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
