Martha Ann (Hart) Crossley – Obituary

MarthaMartha Ann (Hart) Crossley, age 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 18, 2016. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, mamaw, sister aunt, friend, and neighbor. She was of the Baptist faith. She went to Tarrant High School and Brewer (Bethel) Community College and earned her EMT license. She led the development of the North River Rescue Squad in Berry, Alabama. She later retired from the American Wholesale Book Company/Books-A-Million after 15 years of service. She loved taking care of her family and helping anyone in need. She loved doing yard work and growing all kinds of flowers. She loved to cook for all her family and friends. We’ll miss her homemade chicken and dumplings, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and tomato gravy. She especially loved to bake with her granddaughters. She loved to travel to see all of her family and loved going to the beach and the mountains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Marvin and Audie (Lovvorn) Hart (Berry, Alabama).
Martha is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Daniel Crossley (Florence, Alabama); sons, David Crossley and wife, Lisa (Florence, Alabama) and Kenny Crossley and wife, Robin (Killen, Alabama); granddaughters, MaKayla Clark and husband, Denver (Berry, Alabama) and Callie Elizabeth and Kendyl Grace Crossley; and a great-grandson, Denver Woods Clark, due in August; brothers, John Hart and wife, Patti (Millbrook, Alabama) and Dwight Hart and wife, Rhonda (Berry, Alabama); sister, Debbie Hart (Berry, Alabama); stepbrother, Jimmy Hart and wife, Jeanie (Berry, Alabama); brother-in-law, Johnny Crossley and wife, Kay (Chipley, Florida); and sister-in-law, Jeanna Brothers and husband, Roger (Horton, Alabama); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be with Spry-Williams Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be at New Hope Cemetery in Holly Pond, Alabama on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at noon with Brother Greg Woodall officiating.
Pallbearers will be nephews and special family friends.
