Mr. Marlin Ray Hunkeapillar, age 76, of Union Hill Community of Somerville, Alabama passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his residence. Marlin was born April 15, 1948 in Marshall County, AL. His parents were Emmitt Hunkeapillar and Hazel Fletcher Hunkeapillar. He and Judy Rebecca Seagroves were married for over 59 years. He was a member of Rescue Methodist Church. Marlin worked at General Motors in the maintenance department. Marlin was a loyal General Motors advocate. He enjoyed all things GM, including UTV’s and side by sides. He enjoyed both riding and working on them. He supported Alabama football.
Survivors cherishing memories of Marlin include his wife, Judy Hunkeapillar; his sons and daughters in law, Ray and Angie Hunkeapillar and Glenn and Robyn Hunkeapillar; grandchildren, Ashley Wood (Nick), Skylar Perry (Kyle) and Hunter Hunkeapillar; great grandchildren, Carson Hunkeapillar, Blakely McBride, Alaya McBride, Jaxson Wood, Cole Wood and Callan Perry; sister, June Ratley.
Preceding in death are his parents, Emmitt and Hazel Hunkeapillar; brother, Wayne Hunkeapillar; sisters, Betty Wilson, Mary Ann Moore and Virginia Starnes,
The family has elected cremation with a memorial service to be announced when plans are completed.
