It is with sadness, that we announce the death of Marlin C. Gillilan, 80, of Boaz, AL. Mr. Gillilan was born December 4,1945 and died on December 13, 2025.
Mr. Gillilan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gina, and 2 children – Marsha (Keith) Gibson, Chris (Cyndi) Gillilan and 1 step-daughter – Terra (Lekeith) Farmer; 4 grandchildren – April (Raven) Gibson, Logan (Katelyn)Gibson, T.J. (Brittany) Roberts and Victoria Barbee; 1 great grandchild Colson Roberts. He is also survived by 2 sisters – Bobbie Jean (Charles) Bearden, Meglinda (Richard) Price, 2 sisters in law – Charlene Gillilan and Laura Gillilan, and a host of nieces and nephews, and special cousin, Lynn L. Gillian.
Mr. Gillilan is preceded in death by parents Jay C. and Pauline Gillilan, and brothers – Myron Gillilan and DeWayne Gillilan.
Marlin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family. He was owner of Gillilan Tires and Brakes. He loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed life and loved to cut up and laugh. He loved the Lord, and served Him for many years, and was a long-time member of the Bridge Church (formerly the Boaz Church of God) in Boaz.
Marlin will remain in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be at Albertville Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, December 17, from 5:30pm – 8pm. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 18, at 2pm at Albertville Memorial Chapel. Interment following at Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz. Rev. Chris Bartlett, Rev. Rick Luman and Rev. Ryan Bristow will officiate his service. Pallbearers will be Shane Bearden, Brian Bearden, Chad Gillilan, Jamie Gillilan, Kevin Gillilan, Greg Price, Phillip Pierce and Jeremy Regan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Bearden and Lynn L. Gillilan.
