Mark Narmore to play free mini-concert before Swampette tour on July 11

swampette-toursFLORENCE-Florence/Lauderdale Tourism will once again provide musical entertainment before its popular Swampette music tour on Saturday, July 11. Starting at 11 a.m., singer/songwriter Mark Narmore will perform in the Gallery at the Florence/Lauderdale Visitor Center. The “mini-concert” is free and open to the public.
Narmore was raised and still resides in Center Star, Alabama. He has had a 25-plus year career as a songwriter. With over 80 cuts to his credit, he has had songs recorded by

Josh Turner, John Michael Montgomery, Shenandoah, Blackhawk, Terri Clark, Craig Morgan and many others. His song “That’s What I Love About Sunday” was the most performed song at country radio in 2005 according to Billboard magazine and spent five weeks at number one. His first cut was on the Shoals supergroup Shenandoah — “Moon Over Georgia” — and became a top five hit nationally.

The July 11 version of the Swampette tour of area music venues will follow Narmore’s performance, from noon to 4 p.m. The popular tour offers stops at FAME Studios, 3614 Jackson Highway and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.  Led by Judy Hood, wife of the Swampers’ bass player David Hood, the tour travels to each venue aboard the “Trolley of Tunes.” Tour cost is $35 per person.
