Marjorie Ruth Gates 92, of Ardmore,AL died Thursday, September 26, 2019 at her son’s home in Elkmont, Alabama.
She lived in the Ardmore area all her life and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She loved family and her flowers.
She was born Friday, March 18, 1927 in Limestone County, AL and was the daughter of the late Henry Lee McCown and Rosa Mrytle Jordan McCown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie Joe Gates and all of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Dwight Gates, Elkmont, AL, Phillip (Judy) Gates, Ardmore, TN; 5 grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Goodman, Stefanie Gates, Steven (Heather) Gates, Tiffini (Troy) Reed, Brandon (Angie) Gates and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 12:00 PM with Bro. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
