Marjorie Reeves Bright – Obituary

Marjorie Reeves Bright, formerly of Decatur, passed away at her home in Nashville on the 15th of June, 2014 at the age of 88. Preceded in death by parents, Elton Howard Reeves Sr. and Lillie Hollomon Reeves; husband, J.D. Bright; and sister, Charlotte Reeves Reid Rice.

Survived by daughter, Elaine Bright; and brother, Elton Reeves Jr. and his wife, Linda.

Mrs. Bright was a longtime member of Haywood Hills Baptist Church, beginning her membership in 1968. She was a good-hearted loyal wife, mother, and friend who always had a smile to share. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home today from four o’clock until eight o’clock this evening.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall on Wednesday morning, the 18th of June, 2014 at ten o’clock with Pastor Barry Ellis officiating. Visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow in Decatur with a two-thirty afternoon graveside service at Decatur City Cemetery officiated by Dr. Ken Bush.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either TN Baptist Children’s Home or Alabama Children’s Home.
