Marilyn Powers Tucker died on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the age of 86. Marilyn was born in 1938 to Refis and Ailene Powers and spent her early years in northwest Alabama surrounded by a large, loving, and supportive family. After attending school in Decatur, AL and Corinth, MS, she graduated from Mississippi State University. She married and went on to actively raise two sons, Charles and Brian, near Birmingham, AL. She found joy in her children, in spending time outdoors and in her friends. She truly enjoyed getting to know people and thought of everyone she loved as family.
Marilyn was a beautiful, kind and loving person. She was a special soul to everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. She will be forever in our hearts.
There will be no funeral services. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL assisted the family.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Charles and his spouse, Ronald Garza, along with her large extended family, both biological and chosen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, David Brian Tucker.
