Marie Hembree Boyd, age 80 of Jasper, born December 12, 1937, left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on November 11, 2018, at her residence. She was a member of Sumiton Church of God.
Visitation will be Friday November 16, 2018 from 12:00 -2:00 pm at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Rev. Bruce Levan and Rev. Victor Massey will officiate.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, Wash and Maude Hembree; infant son, DeWayne Murray; brother, Ronnie Hembree; infant sister, Sarah Kate Hembree; and step-son, Keith Boyd.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Boyd of Jasper, daughter, Renae Pierce (Benny) of Jasper; son, Steve Boyd (Nicole) of Gadsden; step-daughter, Wenona Hatcher (Les) of Nauvoo; grandchildren, Krysta Murray of Jasper; Chase Pierce (Hillary Jones) of Muscle Shoals; Austin Pierce of Jasper; Nick Pierce (Kelly) of Hayden; Maddie Boyd of Montgomery; Ashton Boyd of Jacksonville; nine step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, Jaxin, Jadin, Jamison, Hudson, Rhett, Maddie, Abel, Blake, Riley, Kolby, several step-great grandchildren, step great great grandchildren, and sister, Mittie Kimbrell (Ray) of Jasper.
Pall bearers will be Chase Pierce, Austin Pierce, Nick Pierce, Blake Pierce, Jaxin Pierce, and Mike Allen.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Children’s Diabetes Foundation, Denver, Co.
