Maria De La Luz “Chely” Roman Romero, 45 of Athens, Alabama, passed away on January 2nd, 2024, in her home. She was born on October 27th, 1978, to parents Aurelio Roman and Victoria Romero.
Maria is survived by her mother Victoria Romero; 3 sisters Maria Romero, Ruth Roman & Elena Roman; 5 brothers Israel Roman, Leonel Roman, Carlos Roman, Aurelio Roman, and David Roman.
Ms. Roman is preceded in death by her father and brother Jaime Roman.
Visitation for Maria will be on Saturday January 6th, 2024, from 5pm-8pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on the 7th, at 11am in the chapel with Gabriel Garcia officiating and burial will be at Thatch-Mann Cemetery.
“Chely” loved the beach, attending church, singing & dancing, drinking coke & coffee, taking selfies, and doing the peace sign.

A María le sobreviven su madre Victoria Romero;3 hermanas María Romero, Ruth Román y Elena Román; 5 hermanos Israel Román, Leonel Román, Carlos Román, Aurelio Román y David Román.
A la Sra. Román le preceden en la muerte su padre y su hermano Jaime Román.
El servicio de cuerpo precente de María será el Sábado 6 de Enero de 2024, de 5 p.m. a 8 p.m. en la funeraria Limestone Chapel. Los servicios fúnebres serán el día 7, a las 11 de la mañana iniciando con servicio en la capilla con Gabriel García y la sepultura será en el cementerio Thatch-Mann.
A “Chely” le encantaba la playa, asistir a la iglesia, cantar y bailar, beber coca cola y café, tomarse selfies y hacer el signo de la paz.
