Marguerite Elizabeth ClemMarguerite Elizabeth Clem, 87, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Born on August 27, 1938, in Decatur, Alabama, Marguerite was the daughter of James Madison Clemons and Maybell Cheatham Clemons. She was a faithful member of Somerville Road Church of Christ. Marguerite worked for Redstone Arsenal before serving as an executive assistant at Marshall Space Flight Center for 15 years. She found great joy in keeping in touch with family and friends through handwritten letters and thoughtful cards.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, James Shelby Clem; her son, James Steven Clem; her brothers, Marlin Clemons, James Clemons, and Mike Clemons; and her parents, James Madison and Maybell Cheatham Clemons.

She is survived by her daughters, Christina (Jeremy) Smith and Anne (Trampas) Whitaker; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marlene Clemons.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Somerville Road Church of Christ, with Tim Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
