Mrs. Lindy Nixon Tolbert, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, will be remembered with joy after her peaceful passing on August 3, 2026, at her home in Bagley. Born on January 14, 1949, in Alabama, Lindy lived a vibrant life dedicated to her family, her passions, and her community.
Lindy’s heart was a tapestry woven with love for her family, which was evident in the countless hours spent playing cards and board games with those she adored. An exceptional cook, she delighted her loved ones with delicious meals, while her quilting and gardening showcased her creative spirit. Lindy took immense pleasure in sharing her beautiful flowers with others, bringing smiles to friends and neighbors alike.
She was preceded in death by her father, Troy Nixon, her mother, Ozella Nixon, and her brothers, Ronald Nixon and Donald Nixon. Despite these losses, her legacy lives on through her loving family.
Lindy is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Tolbert; her sisters, Brenda (Roger Mann) Perkins and Lacine Collins; her sons, Craig (Tracy) Tolbert, Eric Tolbert, and Joseph Tolbert; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Tiffiany (Justin) Ellis, Sean Tolbert, Chase Tolbert, Laura Tolbert, and Adam Tolbert. She will also be missed by her two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Selena Ellis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were privileged to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Empire Baptist Church, located at 234 Wingo Road, Empire, AL 35063. Pastor Keith Owens will officiate the ceremony, where family and friends will gather to honor Lindy’s remarkable life and legacy.
In this time of remembrance, we invite all whose lives were touched by Lindy to come, share stories, and celebrate a life well-lived. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly within the hearts of those she loved.
