Margie Payne Tanner, 89, of Hazel Green passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband David D. Tanner. Mrs. Tanner was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Marie Stevenson of Athens; Syble Jean (Larry) of Hazel Green; Vida Biddle (Gerald) of Harvest; two sons, David Tanner Jr. (Barbara) of Hazel Green, Keith Tanner (Tami) of Hazel Green; two sisters Cornetha Reed of Toney and Earlene Hughes of Toney; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a number of loving family members. Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral will be Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home with Reverend Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Cemetery. Family suggests donations to Hospice of North Alabama. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
