Margie F. MurphyMargie F. Murphy, age 84, received her heavenly reward on August 9, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in McKenzie, TN on April 29, 1938, the daughter of the late David Austin and Lera Eubanks Dailey. She was married to Robert “Bob” Murphy who preceded her in death. A long-time member of Ararat Baptist Church, she served in numerous roles over the years.
Margie loved caring for her children, spending time with her sisters, and took pride in participating in activities with them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and serving those in her community.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Hicks, and husband Ronnie; sons, Patrick Murphy and wife Debbie, Thomas Murphy and wife Cindy, and Michael Murphy; sisters, Junita Knake and Judy Reid; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Spencer and a grandson, Jerry Murphy.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Ararat Baptist Church, with Jonathan Hicks and Rev. Mike Kemp officiating. Burial will follow in Ararat Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Ararat Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Collis, Gary Davis, Brandon Hardee, Chris Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Jackson Murphy, and Payton Murphy.
